Leeds will sign ‘brilliant’ striker for ‘£20m’ as pundit shares ‘big’ claim
Leeds United will sign a new striker as a matter of urgency as soon as the transfer window opens.
That’s according to former Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after a “big blow” to Patrick Bamford.
Bamford limped off after just 23 minutes as Leeds United beat Wolves 3-2 on Friday night (18 March).
The 28-year-old was making just his second start for the Whites since September last year (2021) after struggling with various injuries.
Kenny insists Leeds should spend £20million on a new striker as soon as possible.
“Why didn’t they sign a striker in January? We have been saying this since before January,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Even if Bamford is fit he’s the only one who looks like scoring regularly.
“They need to put this right because another injury to Bamford is a big blow to them.
“They need to go out and spend £20million or something like that on a striker as soon as the window opens.
“This can’t happen again next season. If they stay up then they have to invest in a new striker.
“Bamford is a quality player but he can’t do it all on his own. We know Leeds have the money to go out and make a brilliant signing so they need to do that.”

Bamford has three goal contributions in 10 games across all competitions this season.
He dazzled last season, bagging 17 goals in the Premier League.
