Leicester City ‘demise’ is clear amid source’s James Maddison-Newcastle United twist – pundit
The 2022-23 season may see the “demise” of Leicester City, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker admitted he is “very worried” about Leicester ahead of the new campaign.
The Foxes are the only club in the Premier League not to make a signing this summer and, as quoted by Sky Sports on Friday (5 August), Brendan Rodgers does not expect that to change “as things stand”.

They have to sell and buy with James Maddison and Wesley Fofana attracting interest from Newcastle United and Chelsea, respectively.
Sources told Football Insider earlier this week(4 August) that the club have told Newcastle that Maddison is not for sale after knocking back bids of £40million and £50million.
“I’m very worried about Leicester, to be honest,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“This could be the demise of Leicester. I don’t know what financial trouble they are in but there is something going on there that we don’t know about.
“Leicester are normally looking to sign other people’s players.
“Jamie Vardy is getting on now, he’s not going to be the same player.
“Maddison they might sell, Fofana they might sell.
“Nobody’s coming in. Leicester are in trouble this season.
“It shows that a team can be playing Champions League football, a team can win the Premier League and within four or five years they’re a mid-table side.”

Leicester City have also lost club captain and first-choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this summer after he joined Nice.
They begin their Premier League campaign with the visit of Brentford to the King Power Stadium on Sunday (7 July).
