Medical expert: Ryan Bertrand likely to be out ‘eight weeks’ after major Leicester City update
Leicester City star Ryan Bertrand could be out of action for as long as “eight weeks” after going under the knife.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Bertrand, who joined as a free agent last summer, has been sidelined with a twisted knee since the tail end of 2021.

It was initially hoped that the 32-year-old left-back was facing only a brief spell on the sidelines.
But as quoted by Leicestershire Live on Tuesday of last week (25 January), Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he Bertrand has been forced to have an operation.
Dinnery analysed the defender’s situation and predicted when he might return to competitive action.
“We’re reading between the lines with this one,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“I know there’s been a problem with the meniscus. There’s a tear there and that’s key to this.
“Given that there was a delay between the injury itself and the surgery, we’re assuming it was fairly minor, maybe moderate.
“It’s probably the outer part of that meniscus. If it was borderline, they may have wanted to see how it responded to conservative treatment.
“With a little bit of rest, they usually respond fairly well. The fact that hasn’t worked out has led to the decision to go under the knife.
“Based on that premise, I think we’re looking at a minimum of six weeks, but ideally it would be closer to eight.”

Bertrand is yet to register a goal or assist in 11 matches this term.
The Foxes are next in action against Nottingham Forest in the Fa Cup on Sunday (6 January).
In other news, pundit suggests Leicester City star Youri Tielemans would be a “phwoar signing” for Arsenal after journalist’s update.
