Medical insider: Ricardo Pereira out for ‘seven months’ after Leicester City latest
Leicester City star Ricardo Pereira will miss up to seven months if he has torn his Achilles tendon.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.
Pereira, 28, has struggled to keep fit since he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament back in March 2020.

The Portuguese right-back featured heavily in the Foxes’ pre-season programme ahead of 2022-23 but was forced off in their final friendly against Sevilla last Sunday (31 July).
As quoted by Leicestershire Live on Monday (1 August), Brendan Rodgers revealed “it doesn’t look good” when asked for his assessment of the injury.
Dinnery suggests that the seven-time international could now miss the bulk of the coming campaign.
“It’s always worrying when a player goes off with a non-contact problem, particularly the Achilles,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“When the manager comes out and says things don’t look good, internally they probably know that this is a fairly serious setback. They might just be confirming things with imagining.
“If there is a tear, we could be looking at seven months on the sidelines. We hope that isn’t true and that those fears are allayed, but it doesn’t look good.”

Pereira played just 14 times in the Premier League last term, with those appearances yielding one goal and three assists.
The Foxes get their 2022-23 campaign underway at home to Brentford on Sunday (7 August).
