‘Leicester pushed to sack Van Nistelrooy amid new Championship manager update’

Leicester City may be forced into sacking Ruud van Nistelrooy quickly in the wake of the latest managerial update to emerge from the Championship.

This has been a dismal season for the Foxes, who have suffered an immediate relegation from the Premier League back to the second-tier of English football.

The appointment of Van Nistelrooy as manager back in December simply has not worked out, with the Dutchman struggling to get any sort of run of results together.

Yet while there have been claims that others will follow Jamie Vardy out of Leicester in the wake of their relegation, it remains to be seen if the manager will be one of them.

Ruud van Nistelrooy future remains uncertain

It is now several weeks since the club’s relegation was confirmed, but the situation with regards to the future of Van Nistelrooy remains unclear.

While Southampton immediately sacked Ivo Juric following their relegation, there has so far been no clarification as to whether the 48-year-old will be at the the King Power Stadium next season.

Even so, Leicester are seemingly keeping their options open with Bristol City boss Liam Manning reported to be a Foxes contender for the role should they change managers.

But with things already in motion at other clubs across the country, the pressure looks like it could quickly build on Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha to push the button when it comes to Van Nistelrooy.

Leicester City face Liam Manning competition

Leicester are of course not the only club considering a managerial change this summer, and it appears Manning may be in demand.

According to a report from talkSPORT, Norwich are now also interested in making a move to recruit the Bristol City manager.

Unlike the Foxes, they also have clarity over whether or not they do need a man in the dugout for the coming campaign.

Norwich have already sacked Johannes Hoff Thorup, and although Jack Wilshere took over on an interim basis, he has been ruled out of the running to take the role on permanently.

That ensures that if they decide they want him, the Canaries are now in a position where they can move quickly and decisively to bring in Manning ahead of decision-makers at the King Power.

Should that be the case, the lack of decisiveness at Leicester over the future of Van Nistelrooy would leave them at risk of missing out on a potential replacement.

That could be even more frustrating given Norwich are a team who will have aims of challenging the Foxes for promotion next season.

With that in mind, this new revelation about Manning may well force Leicester into action when it comes to making the big decision over Van Nistelrooy himself.
