Leicester schedule media duty as Marti Cifuentes sack news shared
Marti Cifuentes is continuing to face ever-increasing pressure regarding his position at Leicester City.
The Spanish boss is seeing his role come under major scrutiny at the King Power Stadium, with his team currently sitting 14th in the Championship, despite only being relegated from the Premier League last term.
Cifuentes is the favourite to become the Championship’s next sacking at the moment, with the Foxes currently on a run of just one win in their last five league games.
Leicester suffered another damaging defeat at home to relegation-threatened Oxford United on Saturday afternoon, and it has left the boss in a very perilous position ahead of next week’s meeting with Charlton.

Marti Cifuentes due for Leicester interviews amid sack latest
Mark Robins is in contention to take over at Leicester in the event that Cifuentes is sacked, with the Stoke City boss recently seeing his odds slashed by the bookmakers for a switch across the Midlands.
However, decisive action from the Foxes board still appears to be some way off as far as their manager is concerned, with his position seemingly still safe despite the defeat to Oxford.
Cifuentes is due to do media interviews at Leicester on Sunday, according to journalist Jason Bourne via his X account, with no imminent developments expected regarding a potential sacking.
Leicester’s chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha was present at his team’s latest defeat, in what was understood to have been his first visit to the King Power for some time.
That will only have heightened speculation regarding Cifuentes’ position even further in the aftermath of the defeat, but it seems as if his job is still safe for now.
Cifuentes surely facing now or never run to save his job
Leicester fans have been growing increasingly frustrated with their club as the first half of the season has unfolded, and their bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League now lies in tatters.
Cifuentes’ appointment simply hasn’t had the desired effect after he was brought in from QPR in the summer, and he is surely now facing a pivotal run of games in the coming weeks.
Clashes with Charlton, Birmingham and Southampton are all on the agenda between now and the middle of February, with all three sides currently occupying places in the bottom half of the table.
That spell will surely provide a now-or-never situation for Cifuentes, with the trio of winnable games representing the perfect chance to propel the Foxes up the table.
However, fail to take favourable results from that set of fixtures, and the writing will surely be on the wall for him.
