Leicester transfer news: ‘Most likely’ deal emerges amid Van Nistelrooy pressure
Leicester City fans have been told the most likely signing they can expect for their struggling side during the January transfer window by Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas.
The Foxes are on a dismal run at the minute, losing their last seven Premier League games to leave them 19th in the Premier League table, two points from safety.
That is already putting the pressure on manager Ruud van Nistelrooy following his appointment at the King Power Stadium last month.
It also appears to have highlighted the need for Leicester to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.
They have so far made one signing this month, with right-back Woyo Coulibaly signing from Italian side Parma on a permanent deal.
Now it appears that the Foxes could again be active before the window closes, with the temporary signing of a new winger apparently on the agenda, judging by this update from Thomas.
Responding on X to a question from a Leicester fan about the potential business the club could do in what remains of the window, the reporter wrote: “Winger most likely. Can only do a loan”.
Leicester City winger move could be important to survival hopes
Football Insider Verdict
The signing of a new attacking wide player could be key to any hopes the Foxes have of staying in the Premier League this season.
Abdul Fatawu has been a huge loss for Leicester since suffering a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury back in November.
Bringing in another winger this month means they could finally fill the void that he has left out wide at the King Power Stadium.
Doing so would provide van Nistelrooy’s side with a much-needed extra attacking threat that could help them to pick up some important results.
Football Insider also understands Leicester missed out on Brighton midfielder Jakub Modder to Feyenoord this week.

It will therefore be interesting to see just how much business they do before the window closes, which could offer some indication as to how much they are ready to put faith in van Nistelrooy right now.
