Levy tipped to ‘screw over’ Conte as Tottenham transfer plan revealed – pundit
Frank McAvennie has warned Antonio Conte that Daniel Levy has a history of “screwing over” Tottenham managers.
The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists Levy can not be taken at his word.
As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham will be busy in January as Conte looks to overhaul his squad.
Spurs are yet to lose domestically since Conte’s appointment
Levy sanctioned moves for Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero, Pape Sarr, Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil in the summer.
However, McAvennie has warned Conte over Levy’s previous transfer promises to former managers and claimed it could be a quiet January at N17.
“It’s all well and good hearing that but Levy’s actions speak far louder than his words,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Conte must know he has a reputation for screwing over Tottenham managers.
“Mourinho never got what he wanted. There were so many broken promises about transfers.
“Levy cannot be trusted. It wouldn’t surprise me if no one was signed in January.
“Conte then comes out and says they struggled to get things over the line.
“In reality, Levy didn’t stump up the cash, it always happens. Conte could be different, who knows?
“I’m just looking at the form, it’s not good.”

Tottenham lie sixth in the Premier League as it stands but have games in hand on the teams above them.
Spurs could move into the top four if they win just one of those games.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Tottenham could knock Manchester giants off their perch after ‘£10million’ reveal.
