Monster Levy valuation of Tottenham ace is not reflected in his pay slip – Times
By Harry Sykes
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has slapped a price tag of £90million on Dele Alli, according to a report.
The Times claim the Spurs director values the attacking midfielder at a higher price that it took Real Madrid to secure Gareth Bale for a then world record fee of £86million in 2013.
It is said Levy would want any club to beat the new record set by Manchester United last summer when they paid £89million to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus,
But the Times explain that Tottenham’s sky-high valuation is not reflected in his weekly pay slip.
Alli was handed a new contract worth £50,000-a-week earlier this season, which places him at the bottom of the club’s pay scale for first-team players.
It was the third new deal handed to the England international since he was signed from MK Dons two years, following previous increases that lifted his salary to £12,500-a-week and £25,000-a-week.
The report explains that Bayern Munich have become the latest European powerhouse to express interest in signing Alli following his excellent recent form.
The 20-year-old began the season slowly but has moved through the gears to the point where he has scored a remarkable nine goals in his last nine matches.
The Tottenham playmaker has scored 13 goals and supplied five assists in 30 matches in all competitions, with 11 of those goals coming from 21 league matches.
He is expected to be in the Spurs team that host Middlesbrough in Saturday’s late kick-off aims to narrow the gap on leaders Chelsea, who kick off the weekend’s Premier League fixtures with their mouthwatering showdown against Arsenal.
