Liam Bridcutt predicts brilliant career for Leeds senior man

Liam Bridcutt has predicted Leeds senior man Garry Monk to have a “brilliant career” as a manager.

The 38-year-old who was appointed in the summer has had a largely successful time in charge of the Yorkshire giants following a tough start to the campaign.

He has currently got the club far exceeding pre-season expectations as they sit in fourth place in England’s second tier with nine games left.

The Leeds boss has received many plaudits this season and is considered one of the many successes of the club’s season and ahead of the weekend’s Brighton match, Bridcutt was full of praise for his manager.

“When I first came in here there was a lot of issues going on,” said Bridcutt to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“Obviously, there was the transition of managers and things like that but I knew in the summer when Garry came in, I knew that the club was on the up.

“They made that statement by signing such a good manager and I think he has made the statement by signing the players that he has and looking in the right direction.

“For me, Garry can only get better.

“I think from what he has done for this club has been amazing and he’s still two or three years into his managerial career and he’s achieved what he has.

“I think he is going to go on to have a brilliant career as a manager.”

Bridcutt, 26, was signed by Monk in the summer after impressing on loan at the Yorkshire giants in the last campaign.

He has played a total of 20 matches for Leeds this season and he has also been key to the club’s success.

Both Bridcutt and Monk will be keen to ensure the club ends their 13-year wait for Premier League football this season.

But, the club have a couple of tough tests coming up in the form of second placed Brighton before travelling to face fifth placed side Reading after the international break.
