‘Like a new signing’ – Exclusive: West Ham stars tipped to be buzzing after big player reveal

Jack Wilshere’s return to fitness at West Ham will have the rest of his teammates buzzing ahead of the Premier League season resumption, according to Michael Brown.

The former Leeds and Tottenham midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes the 28-year-old will be like a “new signing” for David Moyes and his men.

The West Ham manager has confirmed that Wilshere, who had been missing with a hernia problem, is back in full training ahead of the Premier League’s comeback later this month.

With the former Arsenal man giving Moyes another option in the middle of the park, Brown insists the increased pressure is good for everyone in east London.

Brown told Football Insider: “We all know what he can bring, he can bring something different – if he can get in the role, stay fit, what he can do with the football will still be there, that bit of quality, creativity and balance.

“There must be a buzz, you know – when you get back to training and you see a couple of new faces, it’s like a new signing. The players will want everyone to get back and it raises everyone’s games.

“All of a sudden, the person in those positions is not as comfy, they realise this or that could move and the pressure’s on. David Moyes needs these players coming back to challenge, especially in the situation West Ham are in.”

Wilshere has played just eight times for the Irons this season, with his last appearance coming back in October.

He has 16 appearances under his belt for the club since signing back in the summer of 2018, with his first season plagued by injury problems as well.

In other West Ham news, a first-team player is not expected to feature for the club again.
