Agbonlahor predicts Liverpool starting XI tonight amid Man United warning

RB Leipzig are one of the strongest teams in Europe and can expose a struggling Liverpool team that will field their strongest XI tonight.

That is according to former Premier League star Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider ahead of the Champions League round-of-16 first-leg clash in Budapest.

Reigning champions Liverpool now trail Premier League leaders Manchester City by 13 points having played one game more than Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Reds have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10, with goalkeeper Alisson making several uncharacteristic blunders in recent matches.

And Agbonlahor says Leipzig will look to capitalise on the Brazilian’s current lack of confidence as well as the frailty of the Liverpool backline.

He told Football Insider: “Tonight’s game, Liverpool will be playing their strongest team because there’s nowhere more dangerous to go at the moment than Leipzig.

“They put pressure on you, they showed that when they beat Manchester United.

“German teams and German managers are very good in their revision of other teams. They’ll have seen how Liverpool have struggled defensively and the goalkeeper too.

“They need to concentrate because if they don’t finish in the top-four then winning the Champions League would mean they qualify again.”

Liverpool qualified for the knockout rounds after topping their group containing Atalanta, Ajax and Midtjylland.

Leipzig, who are 2nd in the Bundesliga, beat Manchester United on the final matchday in Group H to qualify as runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain.

In other news, a top pundit has given his view on Liverpool setting their sights on one of the Premier League’s most in-form players.
