Liverpool attacker suffers serious injury setback – reliable journalist

Liverpool attacker Rhian Brewster has suffered a broken foot, according to a reliable journalist.

The Times’ northern football correspondent Paul Joyce claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday evening that the 17-year-old prospect had suffered a serious injury setback but it is “unclear” as to how long he may be sidelined for.

Brewster is regarded as one of the hottest young talents currently making his mark on Merseyside even though he is yet to earn his debut senior appearance for the Reds.

He has 11 goals in 16 appearances for the England Under-17 side but is expected to be promoted through the ranks in the coming years.

However this latest blow is a huge setback for the striker, who got the nod to play eight times in Premier League 2 last season for the Reds’ Under-23 side, returning the favour with three goals.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of developing young players and Brewster certainly would have benefited from the German’s influence at Anfield.

However it looks as though he may be forced to wait some time before earning any time in the senior squad due to foot injury, which could potentially see him forced to sit out for some time.

Hopefully, as Brewster is quite young, it will not have any long-term impacts on what could potentially be a great budding career.

In other Liverpool news, the Reds have confirmed they have seal their latest defender transfer.
