Liverpool backed to accept ‘£60m’ Luis Diaz offer – expert

Luis Diaz would be tempted to quit Liverpool for Saudi Arabia – and Jurgen Klopp has been told to accept a “£60m” offer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said the Reds should land the money and sign a better player to replace him.

According to The Athletic (19 July), Al Hilal are willing to pay around £43m for the winger but the Reds intend to reject any offer for the 26-year-old.

Diaz joined the Anfield club in January last year and put pen to paper on a contract running until 2027.

The Colombia international missed the majority of the 2022-23 season through injury but returned to the side for the closing stages of a disappointing campaign for the Reds.

When asked if Liverpool may feel forced to accept a bid if the price is right, McAvennie told Football Insider:For £50m/£60m for him definitely.

I like Diaz as a player and he looked good the other night. I think he could have a good say in what is happening at Liverpool this year.

If they can get £60m for him I would take it because I think Jurgen can find a better player for that.

Arsenal

I think he has got skill but he was running like a headless chicken sometimes last year. I do not think Jurgen has got time for that.

I think he would like it over there, there would be no pressure and he would be able to show boat a little bit. Whether they keep him or not, I think he would want to go.
