Liverpool backed to complete Declan Rice signing after source’s ‘huge’ reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has backed Liverpool to sign Declan Rice next year.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said the thought of Rice alongside Thiago Alcantara is “frightening”.
On 8 October, sources told this site that the Reds retain a strong interest in the 23-year-old as they look to land a marquee midfield signing next year.
Jurgen Klopp is a “huge admirer” of the midfielder and believes he could be a perfect addition to his team.
Rice’s current deal at the London Stadium runs out in 2024 and the Hammers have the option of a further year.
Speaking to the media in April, David Moyes was adamant the England international’s price tag would be at least £150million.
McAvennie suggested Rice would be a great addition to the Merseyside club.
“Imagine having Rice with Thiago in the midfield,” he told Football Insider.
“No disrespect to Jordan Henderson, but he has had his time. Rice and Thiago in the midfield would be frightening. I am sure Klopp has thought of that.
“Declan will leave West Ham, we know that. We are just trying to keep him as long as we can.
“He has got ambitions and he wants to win things. He is going to go eventually, whether it is this year or next year.“

Rice has made 13 appearances for the Irons across all competitions this season.
In those outings he has provided two assists.
In other news, a pundit has claimed Trent Alexander-Arnold cannot ‘hide away from the facts’ at Liverpool after intriguing reveal.
