Medical expert: Liverpool ‘can do nothing but pray’ after Mohamed Salah update
Liverpool “can do nothing but pray that” Mohamed Salah emerges unscathed from Egypt’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Salah, who has been managing a foot problem, played just half-an-hour as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 win at Arsenal last Wednesday (16 March).

Per the Liverpool Echo last Friday (18 March), Jurgen Klopp said the 29-year-old “felt his foot again a little bit after the game so we have to see.”
Salah was left out entirely for the Merseysiders’ 1-0 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Nottingham Forest last Sunday (20 March).
The forward’s Egypt side face Sadio Mane’s Senegal in a two-legged tie to determine who will qualify for the World Cup later this year.
And Liverpool will be desperate for Salah not to aggravate his foot problem while he is away, insist Dinnery.
“It’s always a worry whenever any player goes away on international duty,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“You can do nothing but pray that they go out, they perform as they should, and they come back unscathed.
“With Salah, he’s in the top two players in the world. He is pivotal to that Liverpool team. They are still fighting on four fronts.
“He’s a man for the big stage who can deliver when they need him most. They want him back fully fit for the run-in.
“The concern is that it is a big game for Egypt and he is so focused on playing at full pelt for the national team.”

Salah has 28 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances for Liverpool this season.
Egypt’s upcoming play-off tie is a repeat of the Africa Cup of Nations final in February, which Senegal won on penalties.
