Liverpool could accept Fabinho offer after source’s new reveal – ‘85%’, says pundit
Noel Whelan has claimed Jurgen Klopp could look to replace “underperforming” Liverpool star Fabinho amid links to Fiorentina and Morocco ace Sofyan Amrabat.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 29-year-old below-par performances are part of a “chain reaction” at Anfield.
Fabinho has come under criticism for his performances in the 2022-23 campaign as Liverpool struggle to replicate the form which saw them reach the Champions League final and run Man City close for the Premier League title last season.

Despite his contract running until 2026, the midfielder’s future at Anfield is in some doubt – but sources have told Football Insider that he will stay in January and then a decision will be made in the summer.
This site revealed on Tuesday (13 December) that Liverpool are laying the groundwork for two new midfield signings and at least one deal could be done in the winter window.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Sofyan Amrabat is on the radar now and he could be the next piece of the puzzle which allows someone to leave Liverpool in the near future.
“But I still think Fabinho is one of the best.
“Yes, he’s not been hitting the heights of what he’s done in the past few seasons. But has anybody? Not really.
“I don’t think Liverpool have got going at all this season.
“Players are playing at 85%, and that triggers a reaction within other players too.

“Look, there’s no doubt Liverpool are in the market to freshen things up in midfield.
“When you’re getting players like Fabinho underperforming, it doesn’t matter how big of a name you are – Jurgen Klopp will be looking at the market.”
