Liverpool could now finalise another permanent exit after new deal agreed – pundit

Liverpool youngster Rhys Williams is in an “ideal situation” at Aberdeen.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton said that if Williams signs for the Scottish side permanently, having spent the season on loan will make his transition easier.

Last week (28 June), the Reds confirmed that Williams has completed a loan move to the Scottish Premiership side.

The 22-year-old has made 19 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side but has spent the last season and a half out on loan at Blackpool and Swansea.

Former Liverpool youth teammate Leighton Clarkson spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Pittodrie before completing a permanent move this summer.

Hutton insisted linking up with a teammate is the perfect way to settle into a new club.

It is the ideal situation for a player that is on loan,” he told Football Insider.

It can be a bit daunting at first, going to a different league when you are only a youngster and do not really know anybody.

When you get past that and you are playing week in week out and they want you the following year or they want you full time, you know the city and the club, the players and the manager.

You know how everything is run and what is expected of you. It makes it that little bit easier. If you have another youngster coming from Liverpool, they will feel comfortable instantly because you have been through it already.
