Liverpool fans all say the same thing about Luis Diaz after what he did on Bayern debut

Liverpool supporters have been reacting as Luis Diaz made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich.

Diaz joined Bayern Munich after three seasons at Liverpool, where he was part of the squad which won the Premier League title last season.

The sale was one of Liverpool’s key departures this summer as Arne Slot changes the look of his front three.

Florian Wirtz signed for £100m from Bayer Leverkusen, whilst Hugo Ekitike joined from Eintracht Frankfurt, but the loss of Diaz may be a considerable one as the season goes on.

Fans react as Luis Diaz shines on debut

Diaz made his first league start for Bayern Munich in their 6-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig to open the new Bundesliga season.

The Colombian netted the second goal of the match, before assisting two of Harry Kane’s three goals.

Diaz’s goal finished off a slick passing move from Bayern as the forward fired home into the roof of the net.

The goal caused a reaction from Liverpool fans, with The Kop Watch calling Diaz “criminally underrated,” which others questioned the decision of the club to let him leave.

Luis Diaz sale could backfire for Arne Slot

Football Insider Verdict

Diaz had the perfect debut at Bayern as he announced himself in style at the Allianz Arena.

The 28-year-old was a fan favourite at Anfield, for his creativity and flair that he brought down the left flank.

Diaz’s departure could be a blow to Liverpool, although their opening league victory over Bournemouth perhaps proves otherwise.

Liverpool though are currently short of an experienced winger to compete with both Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo.

Arne Slot is currently prioritising a move for Newcastle United‘s Alexander Isak, which would add firepower but not balance to Liverpool’s forward line.

Diaz has yet to be replaced and Harvey Elliott looks likely to depart for more regular playing time, limiting options further.

Slot is relying heavily on goals out wide from Salah, in a move which may backfire if the 33-year-old picks up an injury.
