Liverpool fans explode over major transfer update – ‘Typical FSG’
Liverpool fans expressed frustration with Fenway Sports Group (FSG) on social media following reports that the club has opened talks to sign Stefanos Tzimas.
The 19-year-old striker currently plays for Bundesliga 2 side FC Nürnberg and has impressed this season with eight goals in just 14 appearances.
According to Florian Plettenberg on X, the Reds have already made initial contact, including a “phone call” with the club, as they explore a potential deal.
He continued to say that Tzimas has also attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, with a reported price tag of €25million (£20.8million).
However, many fans have reacted negatively to the news, criticising the club’s board and calling it a “typical FSG” move.
Liverpool fans frustrated with transfer focus amid contract uncertainty
Liverpool comfortably beat Accrington Stanley 5-0 on 11 January, with young striker Jayden Danns on the scoresheet. However, another signing such as Tzimas could block his path into the first team.
Trent Alexander-Arnold also scored, delivering a standout performance that had fans praising him and calling for a new contract.
Supporters want the club to prioritise deals for Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk. All three players have less than six months remaining on their contracts and could leave for free at the end of the season.
While the club remains optimistic about securing new deals for Salah and Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. If Los Blancos meet the right fee, he could even leave as early as January.
Fans are urging the club to focus on resolving these pressing contract issues, rather than pursuing a young striker from Germany’s second division.
One fan commented, “Typical FSG penny pinching” adding they “need a better [striker].” Another fan claimed the club is “distracting all the fans from the shambolic contract saga” of the expiring contracts.
In other news, Liverpool are lining up a move to sign a Bayern Munich star.
