Liverpool fans react to reported talks with £25m Portugal star

Liverpool fans are licking their lips on Twitter at the prospect of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho joining the club this month.
Portuguese outlet Abola reported on Tuesday that Liverpool representatives had been in Lisbon to discuss a potential £25million deal with sporting director Bruno de Carvalho, and the fans are hoping that the two clubs can come to an agreement.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been looking for defensive reinforcements this week after his side’s poor showing in the 3-2 defeat to Swansea on Saturday, and the Euro 2016 winner has emerged as the prime candidate.
He has often been lauded as one of the best young midfield talents in Europe, and has been subject to previous interest from the Premier League.
Everton and Chelsea were both linked last summer, while Manchester United and Arsenal have also been particularly keen.
However, Liverpool now believe that the 24-year-old Portugal star is the missing piece in their puzzle in pursuit of their Premier League title ambition.

Liverpool are looking to make the most of their time in the Portuguese capital, having already negotiated the release of winger Lazar Markovic from his loan spell.
The 22-year-old has now joined Hull until the end of the season, after arriving at Anfield in 2014 for £20million.
