Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Jordon Ibe performance v Man City

By Dominic Toner

Bournemouth attacker Jordon Ibe played 76minutes in the 2-0 defeat against Manchester City on Monday night – and Liverpool supporters reacted on Twitter to his performance, saying their club was right to sell him.

The 21-year-old winger was unable to prevent Eddie Howe’s side losing 2-0 at home to Man City, as they continued to drop closer towards the relegation battle.

Ibe completed his move to the Cherries in the summer from Liverpool in a club record £15million deal.

The Englishman made 58 senior appearances for the Merseyside club, but moved away from Anfield to pursue regular first-team football.

Liverpool fans feel that their club has been vindicated over the move as they don’t think he’s improved.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Ibe has endured a frustrating time since his move to Bournemouth and has been unable to find any sustained form.

The attacker has made 20 appearances across all competitions and is yet to register a goal or an assist.

He is not assured of a starting position in the side and manager Howe will be keen for him to start repaying the £15million fee.

Meanwhile, Liverpool decided they had enough attacking options in their squad to let Ibe leave after adding Sadio Mane to their ranks from Southampton.

In other Liverpool news, Stan Collymore believes this player may end up surplus to requirements.
