Liverpool fans have urged their club to make a move for Florian Wirtz following a fresh update on the midfielder’s future.

David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed on X that Liverpool have made “contact” with Wirtz’s representatives to “express interest” in signing the midfielder.
He added that the Reds have a “long-standing interest” in the 22-year-old, and should the German be open to a move abroad, they are ready to explore a potential deal.
Wirtz has been in outstanding form for Leverkusen since breaking into the first team, registering 23 goal contributions during Xabi Alonso’s title-winning campaign last season.
His impressive displays have continued into the current campaign, and it now appears a summer move is becoming increasingly likely, with several top clubs vying for his signature.
Football Insider previously revealed that Manchester City are prepared to go all out to sign Wirtz ahead of Bayern Munich, but they may now face additional competition as Liverpool ramp up their interest.
