Liverpool fans tear into ‘horrible’ Alexander-Arnold after what he did v Arsenal

Liverpool fans have hit out at Trent Alexander-Arnold after his performance in their Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Arne Slot’s men fought hard to secure a 2-2 draw at the Emirates, with strikes from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, while Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino scored for the hosts.

It was the right-back’s ball into the path of Darwin Nunez which led to Salah’s equaliser, but it was the quality of his performance overall which led to frustrations.

Aside from his role in the second goal, the full-back had turned in a disappointing display in possession and saw travelling supporters air their grievances.

The 26-year-old failed to win a single duel and lost possession 20 times across his 90 minutes on the pitch, while just four of 14 attempted long passes found their man. [Sofascore]

Martinelli regularly got the better of his man and caused plenty of trouble for the Gunners down Alexander-Arnold’s side, raising red flags for Liverpool fans.

Trent Alexander-Arnold slammed after what he did in Liverpool v Arsenal

Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with less than a year remaining on his contract at Anfield, and many are expecting him to make the move.

Recruitment expert Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 October that the right-back “wants to join Real Madrid” amid ongoing speculation.

Now, many fans have called for him to make the move as they took to social media during the clash with Arsenal to label him “abysmal” and “horrible”.
