Liverpool fans tear into Jamie Carragher after his ‘mad’ YPOTS selection
Liverpool fans have expressed their displeasure at club legend Jamie Carragher for his choice when asked who the best young player of the season has been so far in the Premier League.
The Sky Sports pundit told The Overlap that he believes Cole Palmer has been the best young player in the league at this stage in the campaign.
The Chelsea attacking midfielder has scored 14 goals and provided six assists so far this season in 23 Premier League performances, proving himself to once again be a consistent attacking threat.
The 22-year-old received huge plaudits for his performances last season, but the Blues youngster has continued that form this time around.
However, Liverpool supporters believe that Carragher has overlooked another 22-year-old in the form of Ryan Gravenberch.
The Netherlands international has had a breakout season for the Reds and has become a mainstay in Arne Slot’s team.
Liverpool fans believe Ryan Gravenberch deserves the credit
Gravenberch might not get the headlines of Palmer due to being a defensive midfielder, but he has featured in all of Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures and has been a key part of the team’s success.
Fans have claimed that Palmer is a “lazy choice” for the pundit to make while others have claimed that Gravenberch has been the “most consistent midfielder in the league.”
