Liverpool fans unsure on reported German target after dismal display v England
By Danny Wright
Liverpool fans weren’t sold on the display of summer target Julian Brandt against England on Wednesday.
The Mirror reported that Jurgen Klopp is ready to make a bid for the £20million-rated German international in the summer, but supporters are now unsure as to whether he is worth investing in.
Brandt was largely ineffective for Germany in their 1-0 international friendly over the Three Lions at Signal Iduna Park however some Liverpool supporters still want Klopp to get his man.
The Reds’ target started the game on the right-side of the home side’s midfield but after less than an hour of action manager Joachim Low took the decision to take him off the pitch in the place of Andre Schurrle.
Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and Emre Can also took part in the friendly game which was settled by a Lukas Podolski stunner in the 69th minute.
Brandt has been in impressive form in the Bundesliga this season with Bayer Leverkusen and has three goals and seven assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
The 20-year-old was a product of the Wolfsburg youth academy but he has since gone on to make 125 total appearances for Leverkusen.
In Wednesday’s match, Brandt earned his fifth senior international cap after Low handed him his debut just after his 20th birthday in May 2016 against Slovakia.
