‘Liverpool fans won’t want to hear this, but five more players look set to leave after Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson’
Liverpool could be set for a mass exodus of players this summer with up to seven big-name players potentially on their way out, sources have told Football Insider.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already confirmed they will be leaving Anfield at the end of the season and both will depart on free transfers.
However, they are unlikely to be the last to leave, with the likes of Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, Alexis Mac Allister, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones eyeing moves away.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Liverpool are preparing for multiple major departures as they eye an overhaul of their squad.
This comes after Arne Slot seemingly confirmed that multiple players could be allowed to leave and will be replace in another busy transfer window for Liverpool.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown previously told Football Insider that Slot is planning “massive” changes at Liverpool as he is unhappy with some of his players.
After what has been a very disappointing season so far at Anfield, the boss is keen to reshape his squad and build on last summer’s record-breaking window.
| Liverpool Sales Under Arne Slot | Club Joined | Fee Received |
| Luis Diaz | Bayern Munich | £65.5m |
| Darwin Nunez | Al-Hilal | £46.2m |
| Jarell Quansah | Bayer Leverkusen | £35m |
| Fabio Carvalho | Brentford | £22.5m |
| Trent Alexander-Arnold | Real Madrid | £10m |
That will mean major sales need to take place as the Reds aim to avoid spending beyond their means, and a number of players could now be let go.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It was probably not what Liverpool fans wanted to hear after going out of the Champions League to PSG.
“But we know last season there was a big overhaul of players at Anfield with big-name signings coming in, and players were sacrificed to help fund that.
“It’s probably going to be a similar case this year, and I’m sure there’s a few players who will be moving on.
“Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson will be leaving on free transfers, and that makes a big saving on the wages with both of those players moving on.
“There’ll be question marks over the future of Federico Chiesa who’s failed to have an impact really at Anfield.
“Then there’s Harvey Elliott, Alexis Mac Allister, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, there’s uncertainty about a few players in that Liverpool squad.
“Obviously they won’t be spending as much as they did last summer in the window, but with players leaving, Salah, Robertson and others expected to follow, they’re going to have to be replaced.”
Which other players could be allowed to leave Liverpool?
Aside from the seven previously mentioned players who are potentially on the chopping block this summer, other key players’ futures are also being considered.
Football Insider revealed on 15 April that Liverpool have question marks about Alisson’s future as a result of his recent injury record.

The club hierarchy are understood to be “disappointed” with the number of games that the 33-year-old has missed so far this term, raising doubts about his future.
Alisson is currently sidelined with a muscle injury, but has attracted interest from a number of top sides across Europe, including Juventus.
While Liverpool remain adamant he is not for sale this summer and hope to keep him for at least one more season, doubts are growing about his long-term role.
