Kieran Maguire: Liverpool fighting off ‘security breaches’ as ‘red-hot’ new deal confirmed

Liverpool are taking steps to fend off “security breaches” with their latest commercial partnership with Wasabi.

So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the deal was announced on Wednesday (23 February).

The cloud storage technology specialists will take over all of the Merseysiders’ data management as part of the arrangement.

It is claimed that the tie-in will help Liverpool “harness the power of its huge volumes of data” from fan engagement to player analytics.

Maguire predicts that the deal will provide both a commercial and practical boost.

“Information has value,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“The more information you have, the more valuable it is to you. It also makes it even more important to keep it out of the hands of others.

“So to have storage that is scalable in terms of capacity is good. You get the commercial bonus and the technical know-how as well.

“Liverpool are trying to build their relationship with fans in terms of engagement and understanding through digital channels.

“Also, having the comfort of knowing that you have a partner who is going to be red-hot ideally in terms security of data is good.

“Security breaches can be very costly in a variety of ways, so that is absolutely essential for any modern business.”
