Sources: Liverpool finalise second new signing after already agreeing Fabio Carvalho deal
Liverpool are set to add the signing of Celtic teenager Ben Doak to the capture of Fulham playmaker Fabio Carvalho, Football Insider understands.
A deal for Carvalho, 19, is already in the bag and he will join on a five-year deal as soon as his contract with the Championship club ends in June.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that an agreement with winger Doak, 16, is also nearly in place and the paperwork is set to be completed soon.
He will sign on an initial three-year deal running until the summer of 2025.
This site revealed on Tuesday (5 April) that Liverpool were close to deals for both players, as well as 15-year-old Derry City winger Trent Kone-Doherty.
Liverpool will pay around £600,000 in compensation for Doak, who has already been pictured on Merseyside holding aloft the number seven shirt.
The youngster made his senior debut in a 20-minute outing for Celtic in the 1-0 win over Dundee on 29 January.
He was also a late incoming substitute in the Hoops' 3-0 win over Rangers the following week.
Doak has scored four times in seven appearances for Scotland at under-17 level, including a hat-trick in the 6-1 rout of Georgia last month.
He will not be eligible to play for Liverpool's development side until next season.
The rising star will look to the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones at Liverpool, who have both been given a pathway to the first team from the academy.
Finance expert Kieran Maguire told Football Insider on 4 April that the impact of Brexit could see more Celtic youngsters follow Doak to England.
