Liverpool get answer on cut-price Mohammed Kudus move – sources

West Ham will not accept any cut-price move for Liverpool winger target Mohammed Kudus, sources have told Football Insider.

The 24-year-old is wanted by the Reds and Premier League rivals Arsenal after his first 18 months at the London Stadium.

Kudus has a £85million release clause in his contract at West Ham which will become active again next summer.

Sources say the Irons will not accept any bid below that figure as they are desperate to keep the Ghana international.

The winger has notched two goals and one assist in 10 appearances across all competitions this term.

However, Kudus was red-carded against Tottenham last month and handed a six-match ban for violent conduct.

He has already sat out of games against Man United, Nottingham Forest and Everton and will miss further fixtures against Newcastle, Arsenal and Leicester.

The 24-year-old is under contract at the London Stadium until June 2028, with West Ham holding the option to extend his deal a further 12 months.

He cost the Irons a reported fee of £38million when he joined from Ajax in August 2023 and scored 14 goals in his first season in English football.

Declan Rice celebrates for Arsenal

West Ham are no stranger to driving a hard bargain and did so when ex-captain Declan Rice joined Arsenal for a reported £105million last year.

Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui is under pressure in east London with his side sitting 14th in the table after 11 games.
