‘Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros set for exit after transfer breakthrough’

Third-choice goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros may not be at Liverpool come the start of next season, as the Reds confirm a new signing.

Jaros joined the Merseyside club from Slavia Prague back in 2017, and has been on multiple loans since his arrival, including spells at Notts County and Stockport County.

The 23-year-old made his maiden Premier League appearance last season, replacing an injured Alisson in the 79th minute of Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

However, the Czechia keeper could be departing Anfield ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, to make room for a number of incomings.

Jaros set for loan move

It is all change in the goalkeeper department at Anfield this summer, with a number of switches to the pecking order occurring behind first-choice keeper Alisson.

It was confirmed last August that Giorgi Mamardashvili had signed for Liverpool, but the Georgian remained at Valencia until the conclusion of the most recent campaign.

The knock-on effect of the 24-year-old’s arrival is that current number two, Caoimhin Kelleher, has opted to leave and join Brentford, in an attempt to become first choice at a Premier League club.

On Saturday (7 June), Liverpool announced the signing of Armin Pecsi, with the Hungarian set to become Arne Slot’s third-choice goalkeeper, after making the switch from Puskas Akademia for £1.5million.

According to The Athletic, as a result of the incoming, Jaros is expected to be loaned out this summer.

Before Pecsi, Liverpool had already confirmed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, and there are expected to be two additional incomings over the next few days.

Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is set to join the Reds imminently, after the full-back was relieved from international duty for Hungary due to ‘private’ reasons.

Kerkez had an exceptional season for the Cherries, scoring two goals and picking up six assists as he started every single game for Andoni Iraola’s side in the Premier League.

Also, Liverpool have had multiple offers rejected for Florian Wirtz, with Leverkusen standing firm on their £126m valuation of the midfielder.

So far, Slot’s side have offered £109m and £113m for the 22-year-old, and it is expected that the two clubs will reach a compromise in the coming days.
