Liverpool ‘guaranteed’ to announce new signing soon as plan revealed – pundit

Frank McAvennie has insisted Liverpool are “guaranteed” to announce another signing before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker suggested no one will want to leave the Reds at the moment, but that won’t stop Jurgen Klopp from bringing in new players.

Speaking to club media (14 July), Klopp said that if “nobody wants to leave” then they have no reason to sell any other players.

Klopp added that it is not in his plans to make any additions in midfield as he believes his current options are strong enough.

Liverpool confirmed (7 July) that Joe Gomez, 25, has signed a new deal with the club, keeping him at Anfield until 2027.

Gomez joins Mohamed Salah who also extended his stay with the Merseyside club.

When asked if he thought there were any players ready to leave this summer, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I wouldn’t think so.

I wouldn’t imagine anyone would want to leave Liverpool at the moment.

Jota’s injury will be a blow but they’ve got replacements for him.

He’s not going to have people queuing up at his door asking to leave, that’s for sure. I wouldn’t worry about it.

But I can guarantee that they’ll bring somebody else in.”

The Reds have made three new signings so far this summer.

New arrivals include Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen, Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Fabio Carvalho from newly promoted Fulham.
