Liverpool have advantage over Leeds and West Ham in race to sign Carvalho – pundit
Paul Robinson has claimed Harvey Elliott’s progression at Anfield is an advantage for Liverpool in the race to sign Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League goalkeeper said the 19-year-old will likely be keen on joining the Reds as Jurgen Klopp gives his young players opportunities.
Carvalho is set to become a free agent this summer after entering the final six months of his contract at Craven Cottage.

However, the winger will not be signed for nothing as the Cottagers will be due a significant compensation fee for development costs.
A Liverpool source told Football Insider (20 January) that the club are working on a deal to sign Carvalho after positive feedback from their chief scout Barry Hunter.
Robinson believes Harvey Elliott’s move from Fulham to Liverpool in 2019 could influence Carvalho’s decision.
“I think Elliott’s progression will work in Liverpool’s favour,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“The two clubs have obviously got a good relationship as well because Harry Wilson moved to Fulham in the summer.
“A player of Carvalho’s quality, at that age, who has not signed a new contract will be highly sought after. He clearly wants to move on to bigger and better things.
“Klopp has showed this season that he is not afraid to put youngsters in. Elliott is the perfect example.
“As a young player, if you move to one of the big clubs you want an opportunity. You don’t want to be farmed out on loan. Liverpool is certainly a club where you get your chance.”

Leeds United, Southampton and West Ham are also interested in signing Carvalho.
The teenager has contributed eight goals and two assists in 18 appearances this season.
