Liverpool have ‘already broken the bank’ after Sadio Mane contract update – expert
Alex McLeish would be “very surprised” if Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah do not sign new contracts at Liverpool as negotiations continue.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland boss suggested the Reds have “already broken the bank” and should have no trouble getting the duo to commit.
A recruitment source told Football Insider (17 April) that Liverpool chiefs wants Mane, 30, tied down and that the attacker himself wants to stay.

However, the source explained the Reds board will not give the Senegal star a “huge” contract that will break the club’s wage structure.
As revealed by this site (9 April), Liverpool are also close to a breakthrough in negotiations with Mohamed Salah.
McLeish admitted he would be stunned if either Anfield star did not commit to new terms.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Hah, the wage structure? I would think they’ve already broken the bank.
“I would be really surprised if they don’t re-sign. What better a club?
“The only way you can see them not re-signing seen is if they want to fulfil another ambition.
“But if they want to stay at the best team on the planet just now, along with Man City, then that’s the place to stay.
“The players have been great servants to them and Liverpool will reciprocate that.”
Mane has been a regular for Jurgen Klopp this season, with 42 appearances under his belt.

Having played as both a winger and a centre-forward, he has scored 19 goals across all competitions.
He missed a handful of games as he helped Senegal to victory in the African Cup of Nations.
