Liverpool have signed another potential great amid ‘exceptional’ Luis Diaz claim – expert

Alex McLeish has insisted Luis Diaz’s impact at Liverpool should be a “lesson for everyone in the art of recruitment”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland manager insisted the 25-year-old has slotted in seamlessly into the Reds’ front three alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Diaz netted his fourth goal for Liverpool in Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Manchester United.

The Colombia international has been a mainstay for Jurgen Klopp since joining from Porto in January.

McLeish admitted the winger has “hit the ground running” and that other rivals could learn from the Reds’ transfer strategy.

McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Diaz just shows you how thorough they are with recruitment. That is a lesson for everybody

“Bringing Diaz into the club, the impact he’s already made, he’s hit the ground running, that kid. He’s only going to get better. That is a lesson for everybody in the art of recruitment.

“I just believe these three can play anywhere up there and turn it into a centre-forward situation. They exchange their positions and they rotate brilliantly, they are very au fait with each other. One understands the other.

“If one’s in his position, he will go into the other position. It’s not rocket science but it’s very, very effective. When you’ve got players at that level of speed and first touch, their touches are amazing.

“Mane has been absolutely fantastic for Liverpool over the years. Salah’s become, probably, the number one in the world. Diaz has slotted in exceptionally well with these two great, experienced players.”

Diaz has played 17 times already for Liverpool.

He has started seven times in his 10 Premier League appearances.

In other news, a finance guru has claimed Liverpool are on course for ‘huge’ boost as £2million already in the bag.
