Liverpool hit by shattering new ‘blow’ after Diogo Jota update – pundit
Alan Hutton has insisted Diogo Jota’s injury is not only a blow to Liverpool but also a personal disappointment.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said Jota will be gutted to have been injured so close to the World Cup.
The 25-year-old was stretchered from the pitch in stoppage time of the Reds’ 1-0 win over Man City on Sunday (16 October).

Speaking to club media on Tuesday (18 October), Jurgen Klopp said the winger has injured his calf muscle but will not require surgery.
The Liverpool boss did not put an exact timeframe on Jota’s return to the side but said he is likely to be out for months.
The club confirmed that the Portugal international will miss Liverpool’s next eight games before the international break, as well as his country’s participation in the World Cup.
Hutton insisted both the club and the player will be suffering.
“Of course it is going to be a devastating blow, and even worse after losing Luiz Dias for three months,” he told Football Insider.
“You never want to lose any of your talented football players. Jurgen Klopp has had injury problems so he does not want to see anybody else go.

“Personally, for Jota himself, you know the World Cup is coming up. It means the world to these players. So he will be hoping to get back fit as soon as possible.
“Purely from a Liverpool point of view, it is horrific for the manager losing another star man.”
