Liverpool hunt to sign Randal Kolo Muani poses questions about summer transfer activity
Liverpool could make a surprise move for on-loan Tottenham forward Randal Kolo Muani in the summer transfer window.
Kolo Muani joined Spurs on loan from PSG last summer, but the Frenchman has only managed to score one Premier League goal for the club.
Spurs are unlikely to sign Kolo Muani on a permanent deal, and Liverpool do need to replace the departing Mohamed Salah in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are beginning to explore their options in attack, with Federico Chiesa expected to leave and Hugo Ekitike out with a long-term injury.
Kolo Muani can play out wide or through the middle, as Liverpool look to strengthen their squad this summer after underachieving under Arne Slot this season.

Gazzetta delllo Sport in Italy report that Liverpool have identified Kolo Muani as a “potential replacement” for Salah and are showing “strong interest” in the 27-year-old.
Serie A club Juventus are also keen to sign Kolo Muani, whom he has previously played for on loan whilst at PSG.

It is hard to see what Liverpool see in Kolo Muani based on his stats at Spurs this season, with the forward also having only registered one assist.
Salah scored 29 Premier League goals and recorded 18 assists during Liverpool’s 2024-25 title-winning campaign, and Kolo Muani does not have the ability to match those numbers.
Liverpool should be targeting a return to the top of the Premier League, and the pursuit of Kolo Muani does not show any ambition in the transfer market to achieve that aim.
Liverpool in race to sign Premier League star
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown also told Football Insider that Liverpool are showing interest in West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen.
Bowen will be expected to leave West Ham in the summer if the club are relegated from the Premier League this season, which has put many clubs on alert about his availability.
The 29-year-old, who has scored eight Premier League goals this season, also feels like an underwhelming signing in Liverpool’s need to replace Salah.
However, the Reds’ transfer plans could be dictated by Champions League qualification, with Slot’s side still in a fight to achieve a top five Premier League finish.
