Liverpool make shock positional move for final against Manchester City
By Alex Stevens
Lucas Leiva will play in defence for Liverpool in Sunday’s League Cup final against Manchester City.
The midfield anchorman is set to partner Mamadou Sakho at the back after getting the nod to start ahead of Kolo Toure.
Lucas has kept his place for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp sticks with the team that beat Augsburg 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Daniel Sturridge will lead the attack for Klopp’s side as he starts his fourth consecutive match alongside playmakers Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
Fit-again duo Adam Lallana and Joe Allen are named on the substitute’s bench, where they are joined by strike pair Christian Benteke and Divock Origi.
