Liverpool news: Everton idol issues ‘brilliant’ Mohamed Salah verdict after major update
Kevin Campbell has insisted Mohamed Salah will start for Liverpool against Arsenal despite injury fears.
The former Gunners striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, branded the 29-year-old a “machine” who is “not stopping for anything”.
Salah limped off during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday (12 March) and missed training on Monday – raising fears about his involvement in tonight’s (16 March) clash against Arsenal.
However, as quoted by Sky Sports yesterday (15 March) Jurgen Klopp revealed that the winger “is ready to train” ahead of the meeting at the Emirates.
Liverpool have the opportunity to move to within just one point of league leaders Man City if they can secure all three points in north London.
Campbell insisted he is fully expecting Salah to “take the title race by the scruff of the neck” against his old club.
“He’s not stopping for anything, this guy,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s a machine. Salah is fit, strong – and most importantly, he always wants to play.
“It’s great to see the best players, and the top guy at the club wants to play every game – it’s refreshing.
“They obviously took him off as a precaution at the weekend, but he’ll be fit for tonight’s game against Arsenal – make no mistake.
“It’s a huge game obviously after Man City drew against Palace on Monday, so this is the time where someone like Salah can take the title race by the scruff of the neck.
“It’s going to be a brilliant game.”

Salah, who is out of contract in June 2023, has netted 28 goals in 35 Liverpool appearances this term.
James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas will miss tonight’s game after testing positive for Covid-19.
