Liverpool news: Jordan Henderson backed to agree deal after ‘mind-boggling’ reveal – pundit
Jordan Henderson would “stroll it” in the Saudi Pro League if he makes the switch from Liverpool this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said he can understand why Henderson is interested in a move to Saudi.
As revealed by Football Insider, Henderson is set to finalise a £10million move to Saudi club Al Ettifaq after a breakthrough in talks.
New boss, and former teammate of Henderson, Steven Gerrard is keen to link up with the midfielder at his new club.
The 33-year-old has been at Anfield for 12 years and still has two years remaining on his contract but could be tempted by a big money offer.
Henderson is set to earn a staggering £700,000-per-week over two years if he completes a move to the Saudi Pro League side, totalling £82million for the duration of his stay.
When asked for his assessment of the Saudi interest in Henderson, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I can understand that.
“He is not quick enough to play every game whereas he would stroll it over there.

“He is coming to the end of his career so I can understand that move. I do not know if I will understand many more of them but the money is just incredible.
“It is mind-boggling. I remember the first million pound player that was sold now we are talking about people being worth £100m.“
