Liverpool news: ‘Massive’ Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane claim issued after ‘incredible’ development

Luis Diaz can have a “massive” impact for Liverpool this season and they could win the Premier League with an unbeaten run between now and the end of the season.

That is the view of ex-Man City and England defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Diaz’s “brilliant” start to life at Anfield.

The January signing has played five times for Liverpool and opened his account in the 3-1 win over Norwich City at the weekend (19 February).

As quoted by the Liverpool Echo yesterday (23 February), Jurgen Klopp revealed he was set to hold talks with him about his defensive work but his “incredible” work-rate has meant he has had a major impact at the other end of the pitch.

“He can have a massive impact this season,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“He’s come in and been brilliant already. All of a sudden, Mane and Salah are thinking ‘Maybe I need to up my game a bit if I want my new big contract. There’s a new fella on the scene and he’s doing pretty well. Ooh, I actually need to change what I’m doing and make it better’.

“It raises their levels. He’s keen to impress because he’s the new boy and there’s everything that comes with that. It’s a real positive for Liverpool.

“It’s like when Jota came in and started doing well. Everybody else thinks ‘We need to go again’.

Liverpool

“They’ve got a real chance of catching Man City now. Maybe a month ago they thought they could but it was unlikely but suddenly it’s on.

“Can Liverpool go between now and the end of the season unbeaten and win nearly every game? Yes, they can.”

In other news, Liverpool could sign the next Mohamed Salah after an ‘exceptional’ update.
