Liverpool news: ‘Irresponsible’ Trent Alexander-Arnold slammed as Klopp fumes – pundit
Danny Mills has pointed the finger at Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds and England defender said the 23-year-old “relinquishes defensive responsibility” which leads to him being “caught out of position.”
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo (17 March), Jurgen Klopp hit out at critics of Alexander-Arnold and claimed those who criticise his defending “have no idea about football.”

It came after an impressive display from the right-back against Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli on Wednesday.
Mills claimed Manchester City’s Kyle Walker is a “more complete player” than Alexander-Arnold.
“Trent is much better going forward than he is at defending,” he told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“There is a clear imbalance about that. He is not a terrible defender but he is so much better going forward.
“Sometimes he relinquishes that defensive responsibility a bit so from time to time he gets caught out of position.
“The higher you go up, the modern day full-back is a very different position to how it used to be.
“But if you want to be considered the best, you have to be great at both ends of the pitch. You cannot just be good going forward. That is why Kyle Walker is regarded as a more complete player.”

Speaking on Alexander-Arnold, Klopp said: “I’ve said it already before but if there are one or two things [claiming] Trent cannot defend, then I am sorry, you have no idea about football.
“And everyone who says that is just madness.”
