Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah could now sign for Real Madrid after deal agreed – pundit
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah could join Real Madrid this summer after they missed out on Kylian Mbappe, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Merseysiders must cash in this summer if the 29-year-old doesn’t pen new terms.
Salah is out of contract next summer and can speak to overseas clubs regarding a free transfer in January 2023.

Football Insider has been told by a Liverpool source that (14 May) the Egyptian is keen to stay and has compromised on his initial £500,000-a-week wage demands.
As confirmed by Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday (21 May), Mbappe has committed his future to the French giants until 2025 after U-turning on a mega-money free transfer to Real Madrid.
Whelan suggested Real Madrid could approach Liverpool for Salah this summer if Los Blancos feel they are missing a big-name forward.
“He won’t be walking away for fee,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“We’ve seen Kylian Mbappe sign a new contract to stay at Paris Saint-Germain. Maybe there’s an opening at Real Madrid for a player like Mohamed Salah.
“Liverpool have to make a decision. Are they going to give him what he wants, or cash in?
“The best way to cash in right now is by going to Real Madrid. They’ve missed out on a big marquee player they thought was theirs. It makes sense – but only if Liverpool want to go down that route.”

Salah notched the most goals and most assists in the Premier League this term with Liverpool securing second spot.
The former Chelsea man will share the Golden Boot award with Tottenham ace Heung-min Son.
In other news, pundit claims Liverpool star will ‘definitely’ quit Liverpool for Premier League rivals.
