Liverpool news: Pundit can’t believe Mohamed Salah after ‘unpleasant’ development

Danny Mills has been left baffled by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah after his shock penalty miss during the international break.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender reacted after the attacker was put off during his run-up.

Salah, 29, missed Egypt’s first penalty in Tuesday’s (29 March) shootout loss to Senegal.

As the Liverpool star stepped up, with a place at the World Cup on the line, lasers were aimed at his face.

Salah then blazed his pen over the bar before Sadio Mane went on to score the winning penalty for Senegal.

Mills can’t understand why Salah took the pen and claimed he should have called on the ref to do something.

“It looks like there were about ten lasers being shined at him,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He looked like the incredible hulk. If that was putting him off, I don’t know why he didn’t stop.

“He could have gone to the referee and complained that it wasn’t right, which is fair enough.

“On the other hand, maybe it didn’t out him off and he just missed.

“The argument is the second you start to run, the lasers are off you because it’s hard to track someone from that distance.

“It’s unpleasant to see and something should have been done by the officials.

“If Salah wasn’t happy with it he should have said something.”
