Liverpool news: Pundit issues ‘best in the world’ claim after what he’s seen
Liverpool could win multiple trophies this season thanks to their “best in the world” attack.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ chances of picking up more silverware under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool sit six points behind league leaders Manchester City with a game in hand after Spurs won 3-2 at The Etihad on Saturday (19 February).
They are also still in the Champions League and FA Cup with a League Cup final against Chelsea set for 27 February.
McAvennie claims Liverpool could win more than one trophy this season thanks to the club’s recently-improved attack.
“I mean you look at the options Liverpool have, you expect they will win something,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They are in the League Cup final so they could win that. You also wouldn’t bet against them doing well in the Champions League.
“All it takes is for City to lose a game and they are right back in the title race.
“With the attack they have now, you would back them to beat anyone. It’s probably the best attack in the world.
“That’s been the difference between Liverpool and City. City have won more but Liverpool have won the Champions League.
“So maybe Liverpool could do with a few more trophies. I just look at that attack and wow, you would fancy them against anyone.”

Liverpool are next in action against Leeds United on Wednesday (23 February).
They travel to The Etihad on 9 April for what could be a title-deciding game.
