Liverpool news: Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Thiago Alcantara verdict after footage emerges

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on the “unbelievable” Thiago Alcantara after Liverpool thrashed Man United on Tuesday night.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one claimed the 31-year-old has been “the best player on the pitch” in Liverpool’s last two games.

Thiago starred for the Reds in a 4-0 win over United at Anfield.

The centre-midfielder boasted 96 per cent pass accuracy, three key passes, six accurate long balls and two interceptions in the victory. [WhoScored]

The impressive display cam just days after Thiago helped Jurgen Klopp’s side book their place in the FA Cup final.

As shown on Liverpool’s Instagram (18 April), Thiago produced a pass to Mohamed Salah in the second half of that game which particularly impressed Robinson.

“Thiago is an unbelievable player,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs. “A world-class player.

“That pass in the second half [v Man City], wow. He has been the best player on the pitch in the last couple of matches.

“I thought he was a great signing when he first joined but it was a stop-start season for him last year. This year he has had his injuries again.

“His vision, energy, engine, athleticism and intelligence is there for all to see. He brings something a little bit different to that midfield when he plays. It is that extra bit of quality. He is on another level.”

In other news, a finance guru has claimed Liverpool are on course for ‘huge’ boost as £2million already in the bag.
