Liverpool news: Pundit issues ‘big’ Luis Diaz claim after what he spotted in Inter Milan clash

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz after Wednesday’s win over Inter Milan.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham and England number one is adamant the 25-year-old will “make a big difference” at Anfield.

Diaz caught the eye as a second-half substitute in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at the San Siro last night.

Speaking to CBS Sports ahead of the Champions League tie (16 February), Sadio Mane revealed Diaz is “so, so talented and very humble.”

The Reds signed Diaz from FC Porto in a £49million deal on deadline day last month.

The Brazilian winger put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract on Merseyside.

Robinson has been particularly impressed by Diaz’s ability to cut inside his full-back.

“I did not expect Diaz to play the amount of football he has already,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“I think the manager looked at it and thought away at Burnley was too much too soon though.

“I’ve been so impressed by what I’ve seen of him so far. He’s so effective at cutting inside of the full-back. He is definitely going to make a big difference at Liverpool.

“Was he going to enjoy playing away at Burnley? Probably not. Klopp must have thought he had enough in his squad to sit him out of that one.

“The Inter Milan game suited him more.”

Diaz was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.

He has made three appearances for the Reds to date.
