Liverpool news: Pundit shares ‘next level’ transfer verdict amid ‘incredible’ Diogo Jota claim
Noel Whelan has hailed “incredible” Liverpool hitman Diogo Jota after his winner against Nottingham Forest.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Jurgen Klopp’s front line has been taken to the “next level” after the January arrival of Luis Diaz.
Jota prodded home the winner at close range during the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in yesterday’s (20 March) FA Cup quarter-final.
The Portugal international also netted a crucial goal as Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-0 last week (16 March).
Jota has netted 19 goals in 39 appearances for Klopp’s side this season.
Whelan claimed the former Wolves man has “hardly put a foot wrong” since Diaz’s arrival.
“Wow, just look at that squad and the substitutions Klopp was able to make,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“When you look at that front line, Jota has come up with the all-important goal yet again.
“He gets himself into the right place at the right time, makes the right run, and is so potent in front of goal. He’s incredible.
“Diaz has come in and hit the ground running, and Jota has hardly put a foot wrong in response. That bit of business in January has taken their attack to the next level.”

Diaz has netted two goals in six Premier League appearances since joining from Porto in January.
Liverpool’s hopes of an unprecedented quadruple are still alive following yesterday’s FA Cup progression.
