Liverpool news: ‘Remarkable’ Jurgen Klopp claim made as player ‘apology’ issued – pundit
Alex McLeish has insisted Jurgen Klopp’s “remarkable personality” has kept fringe players at Liverpool happy despite a lack of game time.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 54-year-old appears a “cracking people person”.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo (17 May), Klopp “apologised” to his squad players for not playing them more throughout the season.

He hailed the likes of Takumi Minamino, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot for their “incredible” performance after stepping into the starting XI against Southampton.
McLeish insisted Klopp’s persona has endeared him not only to Liverpool but the “football world”.
He suggested it would have a big impact on those not featuring regularly at Anfield.
“He seems to be a cracking people person, Klopp,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“By that I mean the team that don’t play every single week, the players don’t play every single week, you don’t see them saying anything bad.
“You don’t hear them grumbling about not getting game time. He’s got a really remarkable personality that has endeared himself to the city of Liverpool and the football world. His players love him.”
Klopp has relied heavily on certain players during the Reds’ push for a quadruple this season.
Nine of the squad have played 45 games or more throughout the campaign.

Jordan Henderson has made the most appearances (55), though Alisson has played the most minutes.
Virgil van Dijk is the outfield star who has played the most for the Reds this season.
