Liverpool news: Three stars may reach new heights after ‘massive’ Luis Diaz reveal – pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed the arrival of Luis Diaz at Liverpool may help Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah reach new heights.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Diaz is a “great signing” who has a “massively important” role to play at Anfield.
The Colombian made his European debut for his new club in the 2-0 win over Inter Milan at San Siro on Wednesday night (16 February).
He replaced Sadio Mane with half an hour to go with the scores level.
As quoted by American outlet CBS Sports on the day of the game, Mane insisted he welcomed the arrival of Diaz as it would make him a better player.
Klopp now has five elite forwards in Mane, Diaz, Salah, Jota and Roberto Firmino to call on as he looks to overhaul the nine-point gap at the top of the Premier League as well as compete in the Champions League, EFL Cup and FA Cup.
Asked for his verdict on Diaz’s impact since his January arrival, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I like him.
“He looks like a Liverpool player. What he will do is offer a helping hand to Jota, Salah and Mane so they can be rotated more, that’s massively important and it’s massive that the other players are welcoming the competition.
“It’s a great signing from Jurgen Klopp and he’ll definitely be a success at Liverpool.”

Diaz has now played three times across all competitions for Liverpool where he is under contract until the summer of 2027.
The 25-year-old had 16 goals in 28 appearances for FC Porto this season before his move to Merseyside.
